This also contains the novella set right before this called Once Upon a Wedding, so you don't have to get it separately, if you were thinking of getting it.I liked this a lot, but the ending seemed to come up really quickly. I loved that the heroine is a librarian. Chelsea is a very believable character. I had a harder time relating to Gabe, probably because his lifestyle and choices are way different from mine. Adding two girls into the storyline added to the effectiveness of the story. The pace is relaxed, the tone is hopeful with a character oriented storyline that includes some steamy scenes, some laughs and vibrant characters. I would read these in.order, if you can. Home to Honeymoon Harbor is the introductory novella, then Heron's Landing, then Snowfall in Lighthouse Lane, before Once Upon a Wedding and then this one. So even if you buy this, I would read the novella at the end before the full-length story at the beginning. Enjoy!
I have loved her books for a long time- this one was just too preachy and I felt as though the underlying theme was all about how "woke" politically she is. Given that she lives in the Pacific Northwest, I get it, but please don't take something that is fiction and supposed to be an enjoyable summer read type book for everyone else and infuse it with constant social justice themes.
I’m so sad that I’ve finished Summer on Mirror Lake…Sad because I’ve finished reading it and I know it will be awhile before I can continue reading the saga. This wonderful heartwarming book combines several of my favorite character-types: adorable children and librarians (although not much of a surprise, since I am a children’s author.) The only thing missing is a dog, although hopefully that will be added in the continued sage of this magical place, Honeymoon Harbor. I have enjoyed all of the books by this author that I have read, and I find that I am constantly highlighting phrases in my Kindle, because she has captured a feeling so perfectly, or she has made me laugh. (I especially loved the description of the main character’s attempt to row a rowboat for the first time…) I also appreciate her depiction of the plight of orphaned children and the challenges they face in finding a forever family. I look forward to the next book in the series!

A loving story for all romance lovers.
Read if you want to be a librarian or want to know how wealthy people should donate money. Little to no romance, and mostly focuses on the 2 little girls Chelsea wants to adopt. Try Rachel Gibson or a different book by Ross.
