This book is great for everyone.It might accompany a visit to the exhibition but it is especially great for everyone who is not able to make it there.The true Potterhead might know some of the things that are written here but especially the historical view into the minds of people that have long gone but really believed in dragons and phoenixes is worth it.A great book to get for everyone interested in the making of Harry Potter and its historical context.
...aber dann musste ich es einfach behalten!!! Ein wunderschönes Buch mit vielen detaillierten, tollen Illustrationen! Für jeden Harry Potter Fan ein Muss und allemal seinen Preis wert. Ich musste es vor Weihnachten dann schnell noch ein zweites Mal kaufen, da ich das erste Exemplar einfach behalten wollte und es nicht zur Seite legen konnte, so begeistert war ich!
Ein klasse Buch, das hält was es verspricht: ein informativer, schön bebilderter und massentauglicher Ausstellungskatalog mit einer tollen Mischung aus Harry Potter und historischen Objekten

… die Kombination aus Historie & Harry Potter / Fantastic Beasts Hintergrund-Infos fühlte sich für mich nicht homogen an.Pros:(+) z.T. atmosphärische Aufmachung (Schlangencover+Goldverzierung; einige Illustrationen & Grafikelemente)(+) Einblicke in den Schaffungs/Editing-Prozess der Texte(+) Spaßiger Rundgang mit vielen, selektiven Geschichts-Informationen(+) Relativ fairer Preis für Bindungs/Print-Qualität!Cons:(-) Gewisse Layout-Entscheidungen sind z.T. unverständlich (kein Blocksatz, extrem viel Leerplatz/Leerstellen, die man sinnvoller hätte nutzen können). Spätestens nach dem 3. Kapitel hat mich auch wahnsinnig der repititive Aufbau genervt. Nahezu JEDE Seite folgt der gleichen Formel: Illustration / Quellenangabe mit Pfeil / Kommentar in Font B / Auszug aus ieinem Harry Potter Text in Font C". Fand ich beim Durchlesen total unelegant und fast schon faul.(-) Einzelne Essays klingen wie großes, persönliches Bla-Bla und geben keine amtosphärische Überleitung ins Kapitel___Bei mir kam das Gefühl auf, dass das Buch versucht die Ausstellung irgendwie zu "kompensieren", was mMn der völlig falsche Ansatz ist. Ein solches Buch sollte bestenfalls zusätzliche Informationen liefern und/oder vllt. das ein oder andere Ausstellungsstück beinhalten, welches es nicht in die Ausstellung geschafft hat oder eben exklusiv im Buch zu finden ist. Der gesamte historische Kontext wirkt iwie fehlplatziert, wenn man sich über Fabel/Märchen/Mythologie-Wesen interessiert, ist man mit dem Wikipedia-Eintrag zu "Bestiarium" o.ä. besser beraten.Ich würde es nicht weiterempfehlen und am liebsten 2,5 Sterne geben.Fazit: Nichts, was einen aus den Socken haut, aber für den Preis auch kein Fehlkauf.
